It could be a sinus headache.

If you are allergic to tyenol, maybe you could try the following:

-- asprin
-- hot drinks
-- steam inhalation
-- decongestants (to reduce inflammation)
-- massage, homeopathy or acupuncture.

If these do not relieve your headache within 48 hours, see your doctor.

Alternatively, your pain could be a migraine headache.

In this case, you should:
-- take a few aspirin
-- put an ice pack on the painful areas of your forehead and face
-- go to a quiet and darkened room and lie down.

Again, if these do not relieve your headache within 48 hours, go and see your doctor.

This really sounds like a sinus or tension headache. First, I try to shut out as much light and noise as I can. I lie down and I put a bag of ice (use frozen vegetable bags) under my neck and across
my eyes. Under the neck relaxes the muscles leading up to your mouth and jaw and brings some relief. Across your eyes shrink any swelling of your sinus cavities and also brings relief. Then, I'd take an over the counter - sinus headache medication. Ask the pharmacist he'll tell you which one you won't be allergic to. If the headache lasts for more than two or three days see the Dr. you probably need an antibiotic.

Much pain is from muscles below is an example of what may help (based on headaches).
Begin with a couple swigs of molasses or a couple of bananas daily - magnesium (which regulates many things in the body) and potassium (a needed building block for muscles).
Drink at least 1/2 gallons of water per day. Running a body low on water is like running a car low on oil is the analogy the head of neurology at UCDavis told my husband about 10 years ago.

Now to the cause - muscles - your back, neck shoulders and head have tender spots. They are knots in the fibers of the muscles called trigger points. It makes the muscles tight which makes them press on nerves and other things causing the pain.

The cure - start with a professional massage, you will also want to go back over any place you can get to 6-12 times per session up to 6 times per day rubbing (or lightly scratching on your head) every where that is tender until the knots go away. The place where the skull connects to the spine press up under the edge of the skull (to get to those muscles).

For more information read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It teaches what to do and where the pain comes from.

Ugh- a sinus headache. Here's what usually works for me:

1) Take aspirin or Tylenol.
2) Drink something hot. A tea with extra ginger in it is probably your best bet.
3) Massage around your left ear, the back of your jaw, and over your eyes. Or rather, if you can, get someone to do it for you.
4) Put a hot compress over your eye and over the hurting area, and lean back and rest.

I hope this helps!

I get headaches right there, too. Excedarin for Migrane works best for me. Be sure to eat something and have a glass of water. It tends to give tummy aches.

If you want a home remedy, try putting an ice pack on your head while sitting in a very hot bath tub. There's something about heating the body while cooling the head that helps with circulation, relieving the pain.

Good luck.

That sounds like it might be a tension or a sinus headache. When I get that, the very best thing is those green Advil gel tabs, two of those kick in about a half hour and the pain is totally gone. If it's a sinus headache then something with pseudephedrine (such as Sudafed) can dry it up, along with the Advils.

Sounds like it could be a sinus headache, if it also hurts underneath your eyes when you press in, try using a decongestant with a pain reliever like tylenol sinus or some such equivalent.

I hope this helps, as I get these all the time, and this helps me.

Headaches behind the eye are often migraines. Take a painkiller (I prefer Advil), and go rest in a cool, dark room. If you like, a cold washcloth over your eyes can help too. The Advil should start to work in about 30 minutes or so. If you can, sleep...you'll definitely feel better after you get up. And eat lightly tonight (nothing spicy). Hope you feel better soon!

An ibuprofen 800, or some tylenol 3 with codine.

What about Motrin, Ibuprofen or Aspirin? Just make sure that you eat something when taking it, these meds have a tendency to irritate the lining of the stomach. Simple just take with milk and eat a cracker. You can also in addition to this, drink something with caffeine in it, this will help decrease the blood vessels in your head and help with the headache ( this only works temporarily) One more trick an icepack will also help decrease those vessels ( temporarily).
