you can use winrar, zip your docs then password the zip file, you can also add your zips to cd rom, and they will still not be able to be opened without the password.
windows xp only hides files/folders which are used by the system, not the files/folders that we make for our own personal use.

Get WinRar, not winzap, as quickly as u have downloaded, pass to the folder u prefer, and superb click and choose upload to archive, then seek for advance and then press set password, enter a password, then finally press end or ok and then it might make a winrar report with the folder u chosen interior, and the folder interior the winrar report can in basic terms be taken out or open with the password

You can hide folders right from within Windows. Right-click on the folder and select Properties. Look at the bottom of the General tab under the Attributes section. Select the Hidden box and then click OK. It'll be hidden.
To unhide, you'll have to go into My Computer, then click Tools > Folder Options, click the View tab, and select "Show hidden files and folders".
Rosydog2001, your comment about Windows XP not hiding user folders & files is not true. Try it...
