I know how you feel, seriously.

Just keep going to your doctor regularly and tell him or her about your in depth family history to see if you at risk for anything else. I don't if 56 is consider young, but your health should be a concern to you. I would go to the source that I have mentioned to you to lower your risk of diabetes. Eat right and exercise are the best ways to lower your risk. Have your doctor check your cholesterol levels and blood pressure every time to get a check up.

As a healthcare provider I would say that if you are keeping regular check-ups and taking prescribed medication you are doing what is necessary and anxiety over this is going tooo far if it is making you do more than the usual things to stay healthy (regular exercise, eating healthy, and so). I believe these thoughts could have more to do with your depression. Your medications may need increased or changed...I believe your anxiety and obsessive thoughts about death and loss is depression untreated. Additionally, if you are borderline diabetic at 28, you probably have a weight problem (you didn't say). Regular exercise would promote weight loss, and decrease depression.

Considering what happened to you, what you are feeling is quite natural. The best thing to do is to have your anxiety treated by a therapist.

He or she will be able to help you. I don't believe it would take long and you will find relief. Sometimes people are hit by anxiety attacks and they don't get it treated by a professional. Psychotherapy is like Physiotherapy. If you break a leg fixing the break is not enough, you need a professional therapist to help build up the tendons, sinews and muscles. If you try to do it yourself you could do more harm than good.

To alleviate your anxiety, you need someone who will build you back up on the inside. It will help you be a better Mom for your children and also I'm sure your husband is concerned and doesn't like to see you suffering, no husband does, but sometimes if the issue is too personal, we try to give support, but we still worry.

So sorry for your loss and no doubt your still suffering from that. Instead of feeling sadness for her try to celebrate her life for what she had. She is up there in heaven, not sad she's happy, try to be happy for her, thats what she would have wanted. She wouldnt want you to be sad, she's always with you and watching over you.
Dont start letting things like your ailements get to you or you can almost make it happen...as long as you do your part by being healty, eating healty, exercise and maintaining a regular check up you will be fine. Stop being a worry wart and start smiling more.
Good luck

Calm down, you're going to be fine. I promise. May I recommend two books that helped me get past those feelings? I was in the same boat 5 years ago... I'm 55 now and going stronger than ever. The books are described on my diabetes info page and my antidepressant that works page right here:

There are a lot of roadblocks in life. One must use fear as a positive, not a negative. To live a long life take a healthy lifestyle.
Become vegetarian. Run. Smile. Live.

Eat foods that are green, yellow, red, or blue. Avoid those that are white: rice, pasta, sugar, starch.

Breathe. And Breathe Again!

I had that fear while in Jr. High and grew out of it, after a few years I was in an accident and had to see a shrink for depression, my father passed in his early 50's so I've out lived him and my mom is in late 70's. You can only do on this earth while your here which is finite. Enjoy your family and the Dr. will fix you up.

Well you are doing just what you shouldn't: worrying. Instead of stressing about it, take control of your health and your life. Start a good nutrition and excercise program, monitor your blood sugar and take good care of yourself. That's the best thing you can do for yourself and your family. You are missing out on life by worrying about dying. LIVE......and enjoy every day.

Just because your Mom died don't mean you will. diabetes is controlable by dieting and exercise habits. Have you tried herbal treatments? It may just cure your diabetes completely. It cured my hypertension in one month.
Do these cleanses: Candida, liver/gallbladder. exercise, use digestive enzymes, raw applecider vinegar, eliminate all unneccisary drugs, prescription or not. eliminate artificial sweateners and limit white lour, white sugar, and trans fats (hydrogenated oils)

You should check with your Doctor on a quarterly basis. The best you can do is moniter, and prevent. Take care of yourself.

You should also seek mental health counseling for your depression. If you need help finding it or have any questions concerning it, please feel free to email me.
