When you go to the PS to get measured and pics taken to hand into the insurance company, you have four weeks to find out if they will approve coverage or not.

Complain to the PS about back/neck/shoulder pain, and grooves in your shoulders from your bra, and rashes under your breasts.

Different plans cover different things so you would have to hand all that information in (actually your PS would send it to your insurance company) and find out.

Make sure you go to PS's that are in your insurance plan. If you get one that is out of your network you will be paying more out of pocket.

Good luck!

Most health ins. co.'s will cover breast reductions if they're adversely affecting other areas of your health. I had one done in '04 (the BEST thing I've ever done for myself) and my health insurance paid for it because the weight of my dense heavy breasts were putting such a strain on my neck that the bones there actually shifted out of line! In fact, if I DIDN'T have the reduction to relieve the strain, I would have ended up with multipled herniated disks in my neck that would have been inoperable and excruciatingly painful. I hope this was helpful.

Most insurances only cover it if the physician can prove you have other health problems related to the weight of the breasts.
Then the procedure would have to be pre-certified.
If the doctor can show that you have been seen for back problems, shoulder problems or neck problems, he can justify the procedure.

Hope that helps you.

honey, the best way to find out would be to call your insurance carrier and ask them if it would be covered. if you can prove that your bosom is causing health problems, it would most likely be almost completly covered. if not...most cosmetic surgery is out of your pocket.
call your insurance and check with them first, they would know best!!
