it is funny that you ask. there is something you must be doing that makes you think you are not a good role model. or there is someone who is telling you you are not. -i would not know if you have a positive attitude or not. for the way you put this question. but i can tell you that it take more then just you being a good roll model. if you bring other into his life that are not good roll models then he could chose to do as they do. so who do you hang out with do they smoke, yell, say not so nice things, put people down, put races down, spit, chew, talk about drugs like takeing candy, what movies do you watch, what T.V. shows do you, how do you talk about others do you go to church, just going to college and haveing a job doesnt make you a good role model. what you say what you do how you say it and what kind of people are in your life is what this child will know and see and learn. think about it,

You sound like you're doing a good job so far. I too am a single mother of a son. I am also in my last year of college. I believe that your son will see that his mother was a hard worker and that she made sacrifices in order to provide him with a better life. I think this teaches good work ethic and responsibility. Teach him morals, right from wrong and how to treat a lady and I think he will turn out fine. Also remember to read to him and spend lots of quality time!

Be his parent and not a friend. Don't tell him your the little man of the house, because if you do, then when he is a teenager, guess who made him the boss. Good luck and enforce rules, and don't say isn't that cute when he throws a tantrum.

well it sounds like your off to a really good start. Just keep it up and your son will turn out great if you keep a close relationship with him.

It doesn't matter how hard you work or where you work, what matters is if you raise him with rules, responsibility, respect for himself and others, teach him that for everything he does there is a consequence-good or bad-- most of all love him and be consistent!

I don't think you can say for sure how he will turn out, whatever happens, happens. Just support him in what he enjoys and be happy for him.
