I've been needing a new putter, and don't want to spend too much money on one, but I found a used Odyssey white steel 2-ball putter in good condition for $100. So I was wondering if this was a good putter to pick up, or if there are any other putters for about $100 worth looking at instead. (FYI, I'm lefty)

Here's the short of it. Putting is about feel and comfort. It's about finding a putter you feel confident over. I think the proper background would be to ask if you had tried out this model putter, extensively, at a golf shop? I certainly would. Don't just line up and knock in some balls, but go through your full routine and pick challenging putts (even if they are flat!) If you live near a Golf Galaxy, go there, because the inside greens are undulating, and if you live somewhere warm...just head outside.
While odyssey is a great brand (I use the white hot #7), I find the two-ball putter to be extremely hard to line up. I like a lot of their other mallet putters better, and you can find excellent deals on Ebay and the such. I really like the White Steel mallet (non-two ball) model. I would look at that one first. I make all my putter purchases on Ebay, and would suggest you look there for the best deal.

There's a link directly to the Odyssey selection on Ebay below.

This is a good putter. Chances are the owner is upgrading to the Odyssey 3-ball putter. If you can afford it I would suggest getting the 3-ball. It will increase your accuracy on the greens and save you strokes. I picked one up for about $169.00.

Yeah, don't pay $100 for a used Odyssey. The best putter is the one that feels the best. Pros are constantly changing putters searching in vain for the "best".

that sounds like the right price for that putter, it released a year ago and retailed at 169. the going price for a good used one should range from 80 to 119, it should be a little lower because its a left hand, and not a big market for used left hand putters...(usually slow movers on used for sale sites), check www.golfclubexchange.com for used prices or to see if you can find the same or comparable for less...good luck and putt well!

As long as the putter feels good all to you it doesnt really matter what kind it is. I mean it does matter.....but unless your like scratch it doesnt matter unless u putt good with it, so you should just try some putters out!

You get what you pay for, but when it's a putter it needs to be a perfect fit, something you wonder where it's been all your life. Don't compromise.
