This should be to provide for the child's basic needs and parents who live frugally (cheap clothes, non-name brand foods, no more than $700 for rent a month).

If this helps. I live in a small city in central Connecticut. Where I live is definitley not a rich part (people always think Ct has all these rich people maybe because of Greenwich). Average 1 bedroom rent is about $500-600.

You can't put a price on having a baby or raising a kid. There is always something that will come up, or something one in your family will need. All I can say is that I am 23 I have one child and one on the way. I am very fortunate for my kid(s) and do not regret any of it. I work for my county and bring home 18k. There may be times of struggle, but somehow we pull through, and that is one thing everyone needs to remember. I hope this helps.

I've made it on 10,000 a year, but rent is much cheaper in Oklahoma (average is 300 dollars a month). But this is a hard question, because once you have kids, you NEVER feel like there's enough money to pass around, no matter how much you make.

i'm no longer too specific whether that's a sturdy concept. you will possibly no longer be waiting to coach them what they could desire to evaluation (like flying), and grant the nurture they want. i think that in case you finally end up making touch with a pigeon, your scent gets on them and that they are going to be abandoned from their parents thoroughly. So even conserving them is out of the question. attempt adopting a doggy or something rather. they don't have wings to flap, yet they're marvelous.

I know someone who earns $45K per year, pays $1000 mortgage, and is raising a child successfully in California where everything is expensive. They live frugally, no car payment, no name brand stuff also. AND that's just one parent - so it includes necessary daycare.

So I believe in my heart that you could easily live on $45K.

Given your approximate rent and the fact that you prefer generic to name-brand, I'd think you'd be fine with about $40,000 a year. Then again, you also have to take into account whether or not you'll have to pay for childcare (it can get expensive), how much you'll have to pay for the baby's healthcare, etc.

No matter how much it is not enough. Seriously, it depends on your other goals. You could live on $25,000 a year but you would have to fore go luxuries like eating.

i raised two kids on my own as a single mom on less than 16k a year and no type of government assistance at all, and we did it easily.
