I think you should leave some of the gray and do a reverse frosting or streaking (small strands throughout your head) of whatever your original color was or maybe a little lighter. I think this will give you a 'highlighted' effect and might be pretty.

no- one's hair colour is even. There are different shades and tones caused by light bleaching etc. If it really bothers you go to a salon and have it done professionally, but seriously I wouldn't worry too much
