Fine. That's what we like to hear. You will have several possibilities to travel from Bangkok to Koh Samui:
by Bangkok Airways (Samui)
by Thai Airways (Suratthani)
by Orient Thai Air
by night-train (plus ferry)
by VIP-bus (plus ferry)
Whatever you do: Do not forget your baggage! This is very important if you intend to go on to a domestic airport. Your baggage will not be redirected automatically at Bangkok Airport, so you'll have to pick it up, move to the domestic terminal and check-in your baggage again. You would not be the first traveler who arrives at Koh Samui, while the baggage is still in Bangkok ...

If you can manage not to fly, you can take the overnight train from Hualumpong Station in Bangkok for WAAAAAAAAY cheaper . You take it to Surat Thani then you hop on a bus that takes you to the ferry and then you get on the ferry which takes you to Thong Sala . Very easy takes about 16 hours..

if you are trying to get to Ko Samui, do not take the ferry to Tong Sala ! this is on Ko Phang Nang ! you need to take the ferry to Nathon ! this is the main ferry dock on ko samui ! you can take a train a bus and a ferry after these 2 or a plane to get to samui !

You canJust ask at the hotel, or just go to the airport and check..You will find that everyone wants to help you.
And dont worry.. It is easier then you can imagine to travel fly from BKK to Samui.Check out BKK domestic flights.

your cheapest way to go koh samiu is... probably by a cruise ship which will take very long and the more your on the ship the more it probsbly cost. my advice to you is take a flight there...
an airplane more luxury probably and not as long as a cruise ship.
