Crying can exhaust you. You use a tremendous amount to energy when you cry, especially if it is a hard-painful cry. A good cry can make you feel as if you ran a marathon. I have never heard of sleep therapy, but anything is possible. If it works, do it!

I find if I am so emotionally wound up that I have to cry, I often end up sleeping after a good bawl. This does not happen often but it does seem that way. Tears are a wonderful release of tension and perhaps that is the way the soul and body heal after.
I have lost two husband and a beloved man. I found that I would weep for weeks and my only relief was sleep. I would cry myself to sleep then awaken refreshed for a few minutes, perhaps an hour, be emotionally strong until I was set off again by another memory or somesuch. I just lived a life of tears and sleep for the longest time! Sleep kept me sane.
I cannot find any data on this. According to the web, only babies seem to cry themselves to sleep! LOL.

Last night I cried for about 20 minutes, and I ended up sleeping 10 hours, uninterrupted! When I usually sleep 7-8 hours, interrupted at least once. So yes, it does. But I feel better, so :)

If you want to put your baby to sleep in 20 seconds you must get the "Instant Baby Sleep" MP3 sound track. Here is their official web-site: http://www.instantbabysleep.net
The sound track gently produces energy over the full human hearing spectrum with an embedded pulse that gently eases the brain to the Alpha state well known for drowsiness and sleep induction.

im not sure, maybe you slept better because you just let it all out. i always let whatever it is thats bothering me build up, then i just break down. so i guess it could have been because you finally got some things off your mind. in the morning my eyes are always puffy though
