There is a substance in chocolate that dogs and cats have trouble metabolising it builds up in their bodies and it can quickly become toxic making the Cat or dog very ill! Like us they react differently so what hurts one cat may be tolerated by another. Unlike dogs, Cats can't digest cows milk. It is too high in sugars and fats. (Calves grow much quicker than cats) Human Chocolate is made with cow's milk! Added to the toxin it's more likely to make a cat ill than a Dog the same size!
If introduced to chocolate though they can get a liking for it just as we do! I have to be very careful to keep mine well away from both the dog and cats.
Buy the proper cat chocolate! Or use an alternative treat!

Yep it is as bad for cats as it is for dogs.

Most animals should not be given chocolate-the rule also applies to parrots, gerbils, hamsters, rats and mice and also ferrets.I would guess it's equally bad for rabbits and guinea pigs etc.

Basically people seem to be the only creatures who can eat it.There is a substance in it which can kill and the lethal dose for cats is lower than for dogs by bodyweight.

The same substance is lethal to us but to kill a human you'd need to eat about 12 pounds(in weight not money) of chocolate over a short period of time-few people do.

Chocolate is bad for dogs, cats and every other animal. It takes a fairly large amount for it to be lethal but it's still not good for them so don't give it to cats.AT ALL

Yes - it's toxic to both dogs and cats, but for cats, it's even worse than for dogs (and not just because cats are smaller - the lethal dose per ounce of body weight is much lower for cats than dogs).

Choclate is not just bad for pets in the way it's bad for us - it's actually poisonous and can kill them, because they can't metabolize the theobromine in it.

In all honesty, I would think a cat would turn its nose up to it. I just can't see a cat eating chocolate.

Chocolate isn't very good for cats as it contains lactose which cats are intolerant too which can make them sick.Thats why you get special cat milk and chocolate drops for cats.

Yes, it is bad for cats. It is poisonous and deadly. Also, not that any cat would eat onions, but onions are also poisonous to cats. Both foods will kill your cat if ingested.
