think I have OCD & a lot of people agree. i'm a 15 year old girl & i have so many rituals to do all the time. The thing is, most of them arent rituals that i regularly do, most are spur of the moment things, for example
a few days ago i was looking through my bag & i found 3 eyeliners, they were brown, blue, & black. something clicked in my head & i needed to get 3 people to say brown blue black to me. I asked my friends & most thought i was crazy but i couldnt stop. I got ready to follow them home just so they would say those colors to me! Another time, all i had to eat that day was 2 packs of cashews & 2 snapples, i was on the bus & i couldnt stop reciting my calorie intake for the day! I did it backwards, inverse, i counted it in my head depending on when i ate it, then when that didnt feel right, i felt i needed to do it again this time not in the order i ate them, but backwards, or the 2 drinks together, & THEN the cashews. Every day I pace back & forth in my house &

cont*i pace back & forth through my house reciting which homework assignments i did, theres a specific orderi need to use when im reciting it, & i makestrange hand gestures & sometimes i hop or clap my hands when i realize that homework assignment is done. I dont do it once, not twice. i do it more than 20 times & i cant control it. I tell myself to stop but i cant. i feel like i dont have all my assignments done & i cant STOP. then i take out my binder & hit it every time i say one of the homeworks & see that its in my binder.HELP
other times i tell myself as im walking in the house that i need to recite something out loud before my brother or mother say Hi or before they say anything. If they say saomething i run back downstairs, screaming at them to be quiet & start over to make sure i can say it x amount of times until it feels right. sometimes i watch movies &read the little summary for the movie, i force myself to memorise it & recite it x amount of times until it feels right.

You definitely are showing signs of OCD. Not only do you have obsessions, where you think about things constantly and in a particular order, but you also act on them, which are the compulsions. You need to see a psychiatrist pronto if you want help. Many medications can help, as well as therapy. I was just diagnosed with OCD a few days ago, after years of obsessive habits, and I am now on Prozac. If you do not seek help, depression and anxiety disorders may occur. It is something you cannot stop on your own. Good luck, and please get some help!

what exactly is the question.
i'll say that most people with the disorder have either an obsessive disorder or a compulsive disorder, very few have both. what you described sounds like a compulsive disorder. talk to your doctor.
* Cognitive-behavior therapy : The goal of cognitive-behavior therapy is to teach people with OCD to confront their fears and reduce anxiety without performing the ritual behaviors. It also focuses on reducing the exaggerated or catastrophic thinking that often occurs in people with OCD.
* Medication therapy : Tricyclic antidepressants, such as Anafranil, and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressants, such as Paxil, Prozac and Zoloft may be helpful in treating OCD.
i have OCD and prozac has helped a lot.

i dont really know what to say exactly but as much as this website can help, maybe you should go to see someone that knows a lot about these sort of things rather than people that can just give advice. that isnt ment in a nasty way but you need to get a proffesional diognosis (sorry i dont know how to spell it).
Hope everything is ok though.

Yah, it's OCD. Go to a psychologist or a psychiatrist for some help. It's very effective, or so I've heard.
