It's always: because God loves us all or we are his children or because Jesus died for our sins, or God is great, etc.
It's great that you found something that fills your day to day life with joy but damn, can't you talk about something else?
As an agnostic, getting responses to my questions like, "it's because God is so perfect" just doesn't ring with me and I know I am not alone.
Before you get out your crosses I want to clarify that I have no problem with your religion, really.

I can ask the question from wherever the hell I want to. Even if I'm in the Beef and Brocolli section someone's probably going to say that God rules

People: you do realize that if you type a question with the word "God" in it then it will most likely go to the R&S section. It's not like I was cruising the R&S section and decided to harrass you.

If it irritates you on how much a Christian talks about their beliefs then it should also irritate you how much people in general talk about someone they are in love with, a new car they bought, or money they won etc. The feeling people get when wonderful things happen to them is the same feeling Christian's get at the thought of God and His love for us. If everyone in the world has the right to express themselves be it a good thing or a bad thing (which is more often the case) then why can't Christian's be free to express themselves? I bet the reason is because the word of God is all true and because of God's power to touch the heart, people who get irritated with a conversation about Him are really convicted because they know they are not living their lives as He has willed it.

If I talk about God because it is important to me and I find it interesting, is it really any different than the guys sitting around talking about sports all the time or a group of farmers going on an on about the weather. I think people worry too much about what others are doing.

YES! Annoying to the max!
I don't mind people believing in something but if they cannot go through even ONE conversation without stating that god or Jesus had something to do with whatever we're talking about, they have totally lost credibility with me
"It is cold because god made it that way". NO! It's cold because you have the AC on full blast!
And YES, this IS about Religion, people. WHERE does it say it's only for Christians?

As an Agnostic you must realize by now that here in the R&S section there are Christians who are here to talk about and answer questions about God. If you want philosophies or myths about God and culture, you are not going to get those kind of answers from Christians. A Christian believes that Jesus is the answer.

I hear what you are saying some people need to express their beliefs because it's what they are told to do by God. I had the existence of God beyond a shadow of a doubt pr oven to me and i know it to be the truth years ago. I would probably be annoyed by some who that's all they talk about. I am not one of those people who does that and there are many of us Although God is # one i also have other things going on. Don't be hard on them.

I get your point and christians are supposed to answer if someone asks and live according to their faith. Not get into people's faces, because God knew it would only cause irritation and defiance. Be forgiving, though. I mean, could there be worse stuff happening to you? I think so.
By the way, the other day an atheist complained that the christians he has come across didn't tell him about hell and heaven and why not. Aren't they supposed to help him he asked. So, go figure.

Because that's how Catholics and Christians have been since the word God was developed. I don't have a problem with someone who wants to believe in what's not there either, but they need to stop trying to get others to be into something that just isn't for that person. My what you would call a step-dad, became a born again Christian and he was pathetic, putting on this front, "Oh Jesus did this, and God is that." It drove me nuts. I believe in nature, cause that was here before writings and teachings.

It is a way of talking with you without revealing anything about themselves. The distance that it creates escapes them, because within their subculture, it is the norm to see every interaction permeated with God. However, when the leave that subculture without recognizing how odd it makes them, they create a negative impact on relationships with non-Christians (and even Christians who would be more interested in learning about the specifics of their lives, not the latest spiritual jargon they've learned).

Some of them can get annoying at times, but most do not lack a sense of humor. When I tire of it I say, "Well, I think church services should be over now." or something like that. Then we all laugh and change the subject.

As a Christian, He dwells within me, so He is a part of my life always. So yes, I talk of Him often. I don't chase people around and shake the bible at them though. I'm just answering people the way I see fit. They can always look over it if they don't like it.
