I attend an amazing place of worship. It is full of the Holy Spirit and the Power of the living God.
It is not the only church that studies and preaches from the Holy Bible, therefore, it is not the only place to worship.
We look for the unchurched, the unsaved...not those that have a church.
We dedicate children to God and we thank him for his wonderful blessing.
When someone can decide for themselves, then they can be baptized. It's a declaration to the world...a baby can not do that.
Blessings...

I go to a church that was an evangelical offshoot of the Swedish Lutheran Church in America in the late 1800s. They decided not to have controversies over this kind of thing, but to preach "Jesus Christ and him crucified." There is more to their theology than that, but they will baptize any way the individual wants. The original members probably believed in infant baptism, but they didn't want to hinder people coming to Christ by letting it be an issue of contentiion. We have Communion twice a month. It's a serious occasion but also a time of praise and worship. The pastor was originally an Assembly of God pastor, and this is pretty different from our denomination, but he's almost done with seminary and has been preaching for some time. I've never heard any negative talk about other denominations there.
Does this answer your question? One thing I love that our church does is that even though it's been fairly conservative, they have prayers of healing once a month. Anyone can come up for prayer, and about 20 people will come up and pray for the person. This started maybe 20 years ago when the man that was the pastor then had cancer. Then they realized other people in the church had needs too, so they started this regular time of prayer.
I don't mean to be rude to Chris P., but infant baptism isn't about works. Quite the opposite If you want to start another question, we could discuss it more.

No, but i believe my God is the only God with answers. Saying my church or any church for that matter is the only church with answers would be an outright lie. The only one with all the answers is Jesus Christ, if anyone else tells you they do, steer clear of them. The most important factor in being a Christian is having a personal relationship with Jesus. Jesus really does love you no matter what others think about you.
As for baptism, personally, i think that you shouldn't baptize babies because they aren't old enough to understand. Our church has communion twice a year. Communion is the time when you remember the last supper that Jesus had with his disciples. This is a very important meal because Jesus was telling his disciples he was going to die, and they didn't get it. in the same way, there is no way that we will ever "get" everything in this world. so don't even try. but keep asking questions they can only help you in the future.

I believe that baptism is not literally "washing away your sins" It is more of a symbolism to me (showing others that you have accepted Christ as your personal savior). I do understand that everyone, including babies is born into sin, and has a sinful nature, but I think that baptism is more of a personal decision that you make (not at an age that you can't express these feelings.) I mean what if children who were baptised grow up to be athiests, or don't believe in that particular religion? What good did it do? Our church only partakes in communion on special times, such as Easter, Christmas etc...

some thing i do in my church are not excpted in others but i believe the only reason we have a church is to have a leader and a word provider s o that god can give his word to all of us through other men yes baptism does matter it is one of the ways we work to get saved it is important in my church..communion is a way to partake of gods blood and flesh into our bodies just about every 3 months especially on easter

I don't believe my church has all the answers.
We baptize by immersion.....The whole body....to show the death of the old man and the resurection of the new.
We take communion once a month on the first Sunday of the month. It is important to remember what Jesus did for us on the cross.

Absolutely no.
Find for me an instance of Child baptism.
Can you do it?
No.
Why? It's not there.
Of older people why?
Because they made the choice.
A baby can't make that choice.
Example:
Acts 8:36 And as they went along the road they came to some water; and the eunuch said^, "Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?"
Acts 8:37
"if you believe that Jesus is the Christ"
A baby can do that.
Why are you getting hung up on rites and rituals anyway?
Are you on the WORKS PROGRAM????
Working you way into heaven!
Not going to make it.

Baptism is a public declaration of faith that symbolizes the spiritual reality that is supposed to have occurred when a person makes a true confession of faith and is born again by the Holy Spirit. It is also an act of obedience to Christ Jesus who commanded his disciples:
Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Water baptism does not save a person, it is the baptism of the Holy Spirit that regenerates a sinner and makes them a part of Christ.
1 Corinthians 12:12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
Romans 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Baptizing infants is at most harmless and at worse provides a false assurance of salvation that an unregenerate person may end up taking with them to the gave and Hell beyond that. A person has a clear conscience before God when they trust in the finished work of Christ Jesus on the cross as payment for their sins.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: 19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; 20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. 21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

The 'there is my way or the highway' mentality, is a primary reason I left the 'church' sect I was raised in. I knew long before hand, that something was not right; but I allowed the difference as 'growth', and even being a deacon in it.

The fellowship that I attend is just one expression of the greater Body of Christ. As powerfull as we are..we do not have all the truth..
Do not get too caught up in peripheral doctrines...God is mostly concerned with what we do with His Son,Jesus.
