they just don't care, and they give everyone with souped-up cars a bad name! I have done modifications to my car, and the last thing that I want to do, is to see all that money and time spent, go up in smoke, for crashing my car. That's why I drive at legal sppeds, so that I can have a car to show off!

It is because they really don't get the the whole pulling people out of the twisted wreckage of their cars, dead thing.
I spent way too many of the best years of my life looking at stuff like the guy on the 750 Suzuki who broadsided a car that didn't expect for a motorcycle going 60+ mph in a 30 zone. Of course he wasn't wearing a helmet either and there was a nice pool of blood for the fire department to wash away after we were done with our investigation.
What a mess, but games and movies definitely glorify speed.

Good question! Im 23 and im finally getting over the speed urge. The freedom of driving a car is very new when you start driving and speeding is a rush especially when accompanied by the impatience that us young people have. The cars nowadays are alot more sportier and are meant to speed. Music is also factor, young people listen to music that makes you want to speed its hard going the speed limit when you listening to you favorite fast paced head bopping hip hop and pop music and alternative bands. We think that we are unstoppable but in the end its deadly. STOP SPEEDING!

you have a point. but i suppose they think its fun to drive at high speeds. i guess that goes along with being young and adventurous. but hey, ive met some older folks who hooktheir cars up and drive crazier than i do, do it all differs. i think some tricked out carsd actuall can sustain performances. my boyfriend has had a performance car for ten years than worked pretty well. it is dangerous to street race and perhaps stupid, i dont approve of that myself.

They just want to go show off their foolishness, and that's what will get them killed or seriously injured. Sure they may think of their invincibility would hold up, but that won't be the case when they get the biggest surprise of their lives.

Young people tend to believe they are immortal because few of their circle die in a given year. When you are touching 70 you have constant reminders their is no earthly immortality.

They don't! I'm 19 and I drive just as slow as an old lady! FACT: More accidents are caused by old people dying at the wheel every year than young people drivers. The majority of accidents are caused by drunk drivers... blame them...

Young folks do it because they tend to feel invincible. Some learn the hard way that they are not. Older people do it because they are stupid.
