Yeah, it make a big difference. Then I wouldn't be answering your question, because neither of us would be here. Not that it's going to make my day or yours!

Would it make any difference if TRUTH did not exist? It is your concept of a god that is bugging you. If you are afraid of Truth then you should fear God. Can you stay in Truth alone? How do you know what is true and what isn't. What is your barometer if it isn't Truth? If your reality is bases on your senses then what happens to your reality if you should loose a sense? Is the truth still the same even if you cannot see it, for example? If you are operating in a false reality, is there any possibility that there is another point of view going on parallel to your understanding? If the word God is your problem just replace it with the word Truth for a while and see if things don't change in your perception. Imagine that there is an absolute truth and it is where we are all headed. Wouldn't we need to have an idea of what it was so we knew when we have arrived?Peace, Rev. M

Maybe you can find your answer in this satirical poem about people who live as if God doesn't exist.

Creed

Well, I know that I wouldn't be here today if God didn't exist. That's one iota of a difference to me, and it has nothing to do with behavior.

If God did not exist, then nothing would exist because the existence of all things is sustained by God.

Nope. I think you're right. It's scary that religious types need a sky fairy or a list or a book telling them to (or how to) behave. Thank goodness non-religious people have figured out how to be good without all that!

One huge difference is credit. As it is, the piety give all the credit for everything to (a) god. When people finally wake up, they're going to give mankind the credit for his/her accomplishments like they deserve.

I agree. If suddenly there was a revelation (tee hee) that God did not exist, patriotism would take over the abstract motivation, I'm sure.

If God didn't exist, neither would we.

Then we would not exist. The idea that God is somehow a seperate entity opposed to life is weird.

It would just the same, because that's how it is now. God doesn't exist.
