Go downtown, next to lake in the City have a picnic (Homemade
Food), watch the sunset, look at the stars. Go see a movie, end it with good night kiss and go home.

If you guys have been very busy and stuff... try slowing things down. Watch a movie (at one of your houses) lay down on the couch with him and tell him you love him a lot. Don't just daze of into the movie. You can also do some other things to...like, my gf, will right to me every once in a while, just a page or two on how she feels about work. I like it. But, ya, just have a slow night with him and make it his night. I gave a similar answer to a different question, it was chosen as the best answer because she said that it worked. Maybe, it will be the same for you.

You're such a sweetheart. I'm not sure if you live with him, so, I will assume you do not live together. Just go out with him and do something he likes. If he likes movies let him know in advance that you have tickets for a movie and see one that he's been wanting to see. Eat a restaurant he likes and I'm certain he will give you the biggest kiss of love on your sweet lips for you wanting to express your affections to him.
Don't write the poem because most love poems are horrible. Guys are very easy to please. The key is to create a situation where he doesn't have to say anything but yet you'll know he's happy. Guys tend to like to do relaxing things that do not cause them to worry. Maybe bowling? That would be fun.
And when you go out, look your hottest and that will always make him feel special because you went out of the way to deck yourself out and look your best. When a guys woman looks good, it says a lot about him and that always makes a guy feel good about himself that day.
Maybe in the middle of this day, tell him that you love him so and that you thought about doing this for him. If he has any compassion, he'll love you that much more knowing you still feel that strongly for him.

My fiance always feels special when I make him an out of the world dinner. Try something different. Make an appetizer, main course, and dessert. Light some candles, put on some sexy lingerie and enjoy each other.
I would also suggest buying him tickets to a special sporting event or any event that he has been wanting to go to.
Go on a picnic. Spend the day outdoors relaxing, playing games, and dreaming together.
Give him a full body massage.

Take him to a concert, comedy show, car show, or a UFC Championship match, whatever those are. My husband loves UFC and I wanted to take him to a match when they came to Anaheim. But the tickets were about $400. Take him somewhere that sparks his interest. If he likes football, buy him tickets to a football game.
Also, if you want to be really nice and unselfish, offer both tickets to him and say he can take a friend. He'll think you're the best for giving him the option.

The best thing to do in my opinion is cuddle and watch a movie, but you want something special, too... So.. uh...
But seriously, movies are great. Pick one that he likes, (action, horror, whatever.) He'll appreciate it. Sorry, I don't think this is the answer you were looking for, but it's the best I got! Good luck, hun.

i would do something that you both love to do. because going out to dinner is so original. whats really fun is rent movies one night and you could sit on the couch and cuddle and watch movies all night. But do something that you both enjoy doing.

Maybe plan a night for the 2 of you, make dinner for him at home and watch movies. By the fire.

Hmmm,
Well how about something totally unexpected, why not get a couple of Tandem Parachute Jumps and make it a surprise date.
He will never forget it.

there is nothing better than a lonely cosy place at dark where you can flirt and tell him how much you love him (in a restaurant with 20 or 30 people is not)
