i am doing a science fair on this topic. its due thursday

Vases are usually used for holding cut flowers not for growing plants. Because the green stem is underwater and not absorbing CO2, there probably wiil not be too much photosynthesis going on.

What you might look at is the question of whether cut flowers last longer in vases of different colors... This is a possibility. One reason that cut flowers die is because the xylem pipes that conduct water get clogged with bacteria and other microrganisms....conceivably, the growth of some these microflora may be color-dependent...I don't know for sure. I think you're doing original research, and that is GREAT!!!

yes, the transparent ones will be better for the flowers.
