Alan Turing, the father of modern computers, was gay. If it were not for him, and the ideas and the inspirations he had (some of which are inarguably intertwined and inspired by day-to-day life of talking to lovers, friends, etc.) we would not have computers, or if we did they would be easily 20 years behind the times. Therefore, how can someone who holds the stance that gays are evil justify the use of a computer?

Let me reiterate. Computers are a direct result of the life and experiences of a gay man. So if you feel that gays are evil and not worth dealing with, besides to condemn, how do you justify using a gay man's crowning achievement?

If you don't care if he was gay, then this question doesn't apply to you.

But you are wrong, JonJon, every tiny part of life adds to our understanding and inspirations. The smallest and oddest things inspire us. While calculus may be indifferent to his fabulousness, his fabulousness helped inspire the calculus to begin with because you cannot remove it from the perspective (the person's consciousness) that conceived the science.

We as humans think in terms of metaphor; relationally. And the mind that conceived of these sciences did so because of his internal model of the world, which includes "fabulousness".

And I never asked you to justify it to me, I simply said how do you justify it. This could easily be to yourself.

Well...OK, but, so what. If we're supposed to stop using a given product because we object to certain aspects of the inventor's character, we may as well just move back into caves. Ford revolutionized the automobile, and he was a notorious Nazi...lol. I'm sure you can dig up something "objectionable" on the creators of just about everything you use on a daily basis.

Your point is obviously that gay people contribute too, and of course you're right. In most cases it has nothing to do with the fact of their gayness, though. Isaac Newton was probably gay, but the Calculus is indifferent to his fabulousness.

i'm sorry to declare yet you could no longer justify gay marriage by utilising utilising the bible. Its a sin and is an abomination in gods eyes.It does no longer mean he hates people who're gay he loves them yet no longer the sin they stay in. that's amazingly sturdy which you're non secular by way of fact some homosexuals provide up on god by way of fact they experience some church human beings decide them. God Bless you!

I don't have to justify myself to you nor anyone else. That was a huge leap you took there from someones sexual preference to justify using the computer, how do you know he was gay? It's not anyone Else's business what sexual preference someone has, and we all wouldn't be using the computer as we do if it wasn't for Bill Gates and he's not gay.

I didn't know Alan Turing was gay, learn something new all the time. He was an amazing scientist, and his original test for AI is still the one used today.

I see no connection in your question to the computer and gays!
Just being gay don't mean they are all computer oriented!
If Turing didn't invent the computer I am sure some one would have who cares what their sexual orientation was.....That should always be a private subject!

I'm gay myself and I know that gays are not any more evil and tainted than straights, bi's or transsexuals. Sexual orientation is part of the natural human variation like height or IQ, it is not a moral issue at all and Christians know this as well as anyone else.

They arent any more evil than anyone else, which we as humans are all evil at heart. Homosexuality is a sin, but no worse than any other sin. In Gods eyes sin is sin is sin...no matter what it is if it offends God then we need to repent and ask forgiveness for it and have faith in Jesus Christ. What most people think of Christians who say homosexuality is wrong think we think that it is more wrong than other sin, which is not true. My neighbor who is sleeping around is just as wrong as anyone whos a homosexual. My kid steals something? He is just as wrong also. I swear at someone? Just as wrong.

your point?

atheists still believe gravity though a Christian discovered it. A Christian discovered cells, one discovered automation/scissors and many other Christians are creditted with scientific discoveries. So what's your point?

the computer is a machine. the purpose and beliefs behind it are what matter, not the machine itself.
