I have not noticed that either. Is it not a possiblity that people try to sound smarter? Possibly. It is so interesting that we would do do that. You are one observant person! :)
Seriously, haven't noticed... but possibly legit...

I am with Randy, I honestly have never noticed this. I assume I am a lot older than you and I was taught to write a certain way. I would not use a contraction in writing...maybe that is it. My writing has gotten bad enough since coming online anyway, lol.

I do it a lot because I have a grammar check on my computer. I'm trying to write the correct way instead of using slang and shortcuts.

I get excited sometimes.
I like to say it.
I'm born again.
Cleansed in His Blood.
Made righteous.
Judged not guilty.
He did it for me.
He paid, I don't have to.
I'm ready and I am going to heaven.
Sealed by His Holy Spirit.
A done deal.
OLAY!

My reasons are that my education prohibits such and my need to be understood without erroneous assumptions creeping into the replies.

It is called using proper grammar. It has nothing to do with believing in religion. If you read the newspaper you will notice that they too use proper grammer.
