...a lot of them spell out every word in its full. Like they don't shorten their words like haven't or isn't, they say have not, or is not . Why is that?

I have not noticed that either. Is it not a possiblity that people try to sound smarter? Possibly. It is so interesting that we would do do that. You are one observant person! :)

Seriously, haven't noticed... but possibly legit...

oh, and I noticed the same thing when peoepl pray... they start using King James language. I think it's kinda funny. I always wonder if I do the same!!??

I am with Randy, I honestly have never noticed this. I assume I am a lot older than you and I was taught to write a certain way. I would not use a contraction in writing...maybe that is it. My writing has gotten bad enough since coming online anyway, lol.

I do it a lot because I have a grammar check on my computer. I'm trying to write the correct way instead of using slang and shortcuts.

It almost seems like people are subconsiously more respectful when anything involves religion. Maybe that has something to do with it.

My reasons are that my education prohibits such and my need to be understood without erroneous assumptions creeping into the replies.

It is called using proper grammar. It has nothing to do with believing in religion. If you read the newspaper you will notice that they too use proper grammer.
