Don't they know it takes more space to come to a stop when the road is wet, unless they have more insurance and don't care if they do kill someone and their children?

I'm not sure...but after reading this mornings newspaper...I will be slowing down in any weather. A mini van struck a patch of slush and ice and ended up rolling down the interstate......two of the kids ended up in the other lanes with oncoming traffic...a Semi went over the both of them;( I will be driving slower in this crazy weather...good luck

I don't think people do drive faster when it's raining, I think that's a perception issue based on your own fears.

They often drive too fast for conditions though.

Personally I care no more for someone's children than for them, it cuts no ice with me that they have a "baby on board" or whatever they think I should care about. If it was my baby I'd care, and I'd be driving my car as carefully as I already do.

On the other hand I slow down when it rains and I bought the very best high performance rain tires I could buy and changed my stock brakes for bigger ones with kevlar ceramic pads. Chance favors the prepared mind.

Why not ask this in the automotive or social science areas, it surely has nothing to do with engineering.

Well I don't think people realize, usually until something happens. I was in a car that did a 360 across a busy highway in the rain. You can bet I am very very careful in the rain. I guess it's like that saying, live and learn, too bad we often have to learn the hard way.

It is always everybody else that drives bad.
Go ahead. Ask anybody. They will tell you they are perfect and everybody else does not know how to drive.

They are the first to get in an accident because of their own negligence and Know-it-All agendas.
