My 19 month old has had the runs for three days now about 3 - 4 times per day. I'm not sure what is causing it as I haven't been giving her anything spicy or greasy to eat. Her bottom is very sore and she kicks and screams even before she goes onto her changing table as she doesn't want me to wipe her. I've been giving her Pedialte which doesn't seem to be helping. She doesn't seem or act sick....no fever and no fussiness. Any suggestions??

Try to use a warm wash cloth instead of wipes. that will cut back on some of the irritation. we used vaseline or bordeaux's butt paste on both my kids. i would say call her pediatrician too since she has had the diarrhea for more than couple days.

TAKE HER TO HER DOCTOR! If she gets too dehydrated she could end up in the hospital. Some bacterial infections don't come with a fever so don't go by that to determine if she needs to go to the DR. The diarrhea is the cause of the rash so take care of the first problem AT THE DOCTOR, till then use just plain old Vaseline, the whole point of diaper rash creams and ointments is to create a barrier between the skin and moister and this does the job very well and won't sting like a&d and wipes clean very easy so you don't further irritate the diaper area.
GOOD LUCK and I hope she gets well soon!!!

Now I'm sure you've heard questionable things about baby powder. My daughter had diaper rash forever until I started using it. The rash cleared completely in a couple of days. I used it with every diaper change, even if there was no rash, and it never came back. I bought the medicated kind. They sell it everywhere. If you can, try buying some plain white wash cloths and wiping her bottom with cloths and warm water. That way you know there will be nothing to irritate her more.
As for the tummy aches, I'm not sure what to tell you, other than what you are doing. She will more than likely feel better soon. My daughter gets an icky tummy a couple times a year too. It subsides after 4-7 days, all on it's own.

I've been in your situation before..that baby is suffering, go to any drug store and get Ammens powder (it's a miracle) and get any fruit flavor pedialite for the diarehea even if you wanna mix it with water or even milk like 2 ounces of milk 6 ounces of pedialite as long as the baby have some of it..No wipes only warm water for cleaning the affected area.Hopes the baby feels better soon..

Take her to the pediatrician. She may have an allergic reaction to something. The little boy i nanny all of a sudden had an allergy to certain fruits and we couldnt figure out what was wrong until he had an allergy test done.

BRAT diet- bananas, rice, applesauce, toast

I would always put my son in a tub of plain water with diarrhea diaper rash, always helped to soothe it.
