Absolutely not. There are many medications that adversely affect cats. This includes both human and canine medications, as these are formulated for those species specifically.
Two of the most important drugs to never give your cat are aspirin and tylenol. Cats metabolize aspiring very slowly, much slower than any other species. Too much (which is very easy to do, since their threshold is so low), can cause them to bleed out.
Tylenol causes methemogloinemia in felines. Basically, their blood loses the ability to carry oxygen very quickly, and they die a very painful death.
It is also important to not use OTC flea medication on cats. They are very sensitive to permethrin, the active ingredient in these medications. OTC medications are not well regulated. The canine formulations of these are very dangerous for cats as well, as they have much more permethrin in them. Signs of toxicity include tremors, seizures and elevated temperatures.
Hope this helps.

I never have because I work for a vet and they treat so many cats that have used over the counter medicine. The dosage is never right for each cat, it is so dangerous.

Not without your vet's approval and recommendation. I use an over the counter medication for my cat for her megacolon condition, but it was recommended by my vet. Cats are very sensitive to many things, and things that we use can be toxic and deadly for them (i.e. too much cranberry juice can be toxic to a cat). And, something that is ok for a dog to use is not necessarily ok for a cat. So, check with the vet- always!

ask your vet, they will be able to provide the best information, we give our cat an otc for stomach problems, with our vets permission, and she is fine, she's been taking it for over a year now. some will okay, but some could kill a cat.

do not use human medication on your cat. many of these can seriously injure or kill animals, especially pain relievers such as ibuprofen, aspirin, tylenol and the like. always consult a vet.

NO, NO, NO! Sometimes you can use OTCs for dogs but NOT for cats. They have a different, unique physical makeup that usually doesn't tolerate OTCs. Unless the vet has specifically told you to use a particular OTC for your cat, PLEASE, PLEASE, do NOT. Many things will kill a cat that you can buy OTC!

No. Things that you think would be ok for humans do not do the same things for cats. example: aspirin takes care of our headaches, but aspirin for cats kills them
