Steyr bade about four different hand guns I've shot there SSP 9MM they also made one that was select fire I believe it was the SPS but I'm not sure the model. Both models were sold with a 15 and a 30 round mag. They were both great guns and handled great they were designed for body guards because of the amount of ammo they could carry and they were light weight. Once the high cap ban went into place they were discontinued. Started in 2004 based on the Glock design the M1A. I haven had the chance to shoot this one yet.

Yep on both counts. Haven't shot the new polymer pistols but an older 1912 model I think in 9mm Steyr. Has an internal mag and can be loaded with stripper clips.

Steyr didn't make many handguns but they should be of fair quality. Only 2 are listed in the Blue Book; 9mm models GB and SPP and are pretty rare on the used gun market.

Owned a Steyr GB 9mm back in 1986. First of the high capacity guns to hit the USA. I couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with it. Sold it to a friend, who still has it, and shoots rings around me with it. Paid a whooping $350.00 for in back in '86. Gun now goes for over $1000 if you can find one. Told my buddy I want the gun back when he dies. . .
