In nov 05' i had a dizzy spell and seen the medcheck and had antibiotics, my ear completely closed up about a week later. I went to my family doc and he said it was an infection. I had ear drops and antibiotics and it took 6 weeks before I could even hear. It never went away so i saw the ent. I had a ct scan and mri and he said its an infection. But he gave me antibiotics. Is this procedure?

keep going back to the doctor its an infection and if one drug doesnt cure it he has to try another till your cured.

Think about it....your question is like saying "I had a rash, and the doc gave me antibiotics instead of surgery"...

What sort of surgery were you looking for to clear up an infection? Did you want your ear removed? LOL

Yes cause infections is what caused the problem. Even with much technilogical advances we have to day. Surgery should still be considerd as the last resort. Plus it's a lot more expensive

I don't know of any way for them to "surgically" remove an infection. What's really important is that you are getting the RIGHT antibiotic.

doctors typically try to solve problems without surgery....would you like to have unnecessary surgery for every problem??? Think about how much you would have to pay...if antibiotics solved your problem that's great, if not go back and see what your others options are.

hes the DR he should know the reason for no surgery is because it can be treated with medication and the surgery is not needed.
