I am a painter by trade and so I remove alot if wallpaper.
It generally comes off in 2 layers. An inexpensive way that I have found that is most effective is to mix liquid fabric softener (ie. fleecy) in hot water. 1/2 and 1/2

They have wallpaper remover solutions you can purchase. You spray it on the wallpaper, let it set and then peel. If you have large amounts of wallpaper I highly recommend using a professional steam cleaner (you can rent them from a rental store if you don't own one). You will be able to pull it off easily in strips. Good luck!

You can purchase this product, it's a hand held object that has scores the paper, then when you apply water, it can soak into the paper and it should peel right off. I used a table fork because I was impatient and wanted to start right away, it worked fine, just took a little while longer.

No need to go through all that trouble! Just soak a large sponge in water and gently dampen the wall paper until it softens and scrape lightly with a common household metal spatula...wahlah..

EASY and Cheap!
Good Luck!

You can get a steamer, and hold it to the wall paper which melts the glue, then you can scrape it off.
