having driven neither i can only go on my own opinion.
ST has a more up to date styling, in st3 trim the interior loks the biz with the red glow from the dash, its 5 cylinder volvo engine is a beast and easy power gains can be made. mk2 focus's handle like a dream.
RS was limited edition and came in one colour only, the interior may look dated but the body still looks amazing, i'd go for this car due to the limited production numbers and the fact its value can only increase, plus it has the rs badge and a real ford engine.

Apart from being bigger and mayb a little less agile the ST3 is by far the better car......its got and extra 500cc in the engine and the same rs turbo unit. Insurance is cheaper too i belive.
