I don't know how old you are or anything, but when my mom married our stepdad, her father had already passed away. So, she had my brother give her away. It seemed appropriate, him being "the man of the house" and all. My brother was only eleven at the time, but I know taht it meant alot to him.
I'm don't know if you have any children, or if they are old enough or not, but I always thought that was a good idea.

I am getting married in June and my dad is going to walk me down the aisle. I'm truly fortunate to not be in the predicament that alot of women face when it comes to the decision. I have no brothers and no uncles that are extremely close that I would want to take my fathers place if he weren't around. But if something should happen in the next four months I would ask my mom to walk me because the purpose of the father walking his daughter is to "give her away". So your mom is the next person in line that can give you away.

i am being walked down the aisle by my dad and step dad. if you don have that option how about an uncle or grandfather to do the honors? even a close male friend could do it. a friend of mine got her dog to walk her down the aisle as both her parents had passed away.

My mom and dad. After all, they both raised me. Fortunately, I had my father my whole life but honestly, I see nothing wrong with Mom walking her daughter down the aisle if the case calls for it.

My husband and that i did something like this. He grow to be waiting for me on the front of the aisle (no longer in a church, we had a greater informal and non-classic wedding ceremony). once I got here out, he walked to the tip of the aisle to fulfill me, took my hand, and we walked down collectively. the ingredient is nonetheless, i don't have a father in my existence. he's alive and all, yet we no longer have a dating. i think of that if I had a great guy for a father, i might have enable him walk me down the aisle if that's what he wanted to do. i think of as long as your father's emotions won't get harm, there's no harm in what you desire to do. decide for it!

My dad walked me down the aisle, but if for whatever reason he couldn't be there, I have a close friend who had volunteered to "give me away"; I have been friends with him and his wife for many years, and they are like family to me. He calls himself my "american father" (I'm from a different country originally).

well I'm not sure who is walking me down the aisle because me and my dad aren't that close......i might chose my mom or my brothers might......you could also consider grandfathers uncles....cousins or a really close friend you have to consider who you feel really cares about you and would be happy that you chose them for this special moment.......just think you means the most to you and then you will know who is right to walk you down the aisle
