I don't think it is a good idea because it dries the skin and has skin cancer risks, if she is really insistent, first talk to her pediatrician or dermatologist to get a medical opinion. I have friends who were sun-worshipers when they were young and now their skin looks much older than mine does. If your daughter wants a tan, have her use the self-tanning lotions or go to one of the spray-on tanning places. If she uses the lotion have her wear thin rubber gloves to apply it. If she can't work with the gloves, have her put on a HEAVY layer of hand cream first and then wash her hands really well after she is finished. The modern tanning creams aren't as bad as the old ones which left us with orange fingers, but it does still happen if you aren't careful.

no way!!! your daughter shouldnt have to worry about the shade of her skin and she has a much higher chance of getting skin cancer too! if she REALLY WANTS to then i would suggest buying a tanning lotion or self tanner, some of them will wash off but if she swims or is worrying about that, there are some waterproof ones...good luck

also, 30 min in a tanning bed is equal to 6 HOURS in the acctual sun, so tanning beds to 12 times the damage as the sun, and the sun already does ALOT of damage

I strongly advise against it! I am 58 and in the past 10 years or so, have begun to pay the price for all my time in the REAL sun. I'll be visiting a Dermatologist once a year for the rest of my life, probably. Most of the visits are because of what the sun did to me, 25 or more years ago!!

No. It's not alright for anybody to go to tanning beds. Too dangerous.

Absolutlely not! It isnt right for anyone to go to tanning beds, unless of course you want to get skin cancer and look like a leather couch.

Not unless you want her to look like a dried up orange tinted piece of boot leather by the time she's 20.

Not to mention premature age spots and skin cancer. Mmmmm very attractive !
