This is a serious question. Please no nay sayers or idots. I am in need of some friendly advice.

if its something you cant live without, if your constantly thinking of it, if its affecting your daily living...answer yes to any of this...then its highly possible you do.

Without having a substance abuse problem myself, I guess my first thought would probably be that if you think you might have one, then you probably do. Like you're taught in school- if you think you're drunk, then you really were drunk long ago!

That said, if you think you have a problem, I would probably hunt around on the internet for help. Alcoholics Anonymous or something like that. Or call your doctor- he/she should be able to recommend something to determine if you really have a problem and then the best way to get you the help.

It would have helped to know what susbstance. Try this. Think about whatever substance you are talking about. Now picture your life never being able to use it EVER again. If it scares you, angers you, etc, you may have a problem. I love to drink and 420 it up and whenever I think about never doing it again, it is a crappy thought. I am at peace with being a so called "alcoholic" or whatever, and pot is safer than alcohol or cigarettes.
