Oh I totally had the same thing happen to me. It means he's a jerk. Its not worth persuing because of he acts like this now, he'll act like it if you guys get in a relationship. Don't bother with him, he's not worth it and he'll only cause you pain. Go find a real man who likes you whenever, not ony when no one's around to see.

you're probably pretty young, right? If not, then your crush probably has the MINDSET of a kid or "young adult" lol.
Anyway, younger guys tend to get embarrased by the fact that they really like a girl, and therefore act the way he is.
(ps I mean like 13-15 probably... right?)

I'm sorry to say but its probably because he is embarassed with you. I think you shoul just ask him and if he give you a dumb reason or you can tell he's lying than dump him. I t s better if you talk about it now.

I have a friend who has JUST this SAME problem! I think it's because they have "cliques" kinda like girls and they don't want to look dumb in front of their friends. If you think about it...this happens to girls too.

yup.my ex treats me like that.its the same thing as girls having cliques and being embarassed 2b seen w/ that dorky guy theyr in love w/.

i don't know...i have the same problem. maybe he is trying to keep some distance, afraid of his friends seeing him being with you, shy, embarrased or ...etc. who knows....gently bring it up and ask him and see what he tells you. or make sure you're there when his friends are around to see how he reacts.
