The Da Vinci Code is a fictional novel. There is documented evidence that the church persecuted many people and made false confessions on their behalf of witchcraft etc.

In all actuality a majority of "The Burning times," is an exaggeration. Most of those killed were Christians who had upset someone. Very little proof was needed to convict someone, and almost all confessions were obtained by coercion and torture. Most of what people thought of as witch craft was only practiced by people who could understand the "Malfus Malcartum," or were aware of the criteria [These "Witches," wanted to rebel, and "Satanic Witchcraft," was an accessible way of doing so.]. All the claims in it were totally unsubstantiated.
Simply put, confessions occured because the torturers would not accept "I do not practice Witchcraft" as an answer.
I'm not saying some Pagans didn't die, some did, but no where near as high as people would like to say.

Um, you do know that the Da Vinci Code is fictional, right? I wonder if the Bible started out this way? The Pagans probably all boycotted the park performance.

The D code is a fake. It is based on fiction. The writer comes right out and says so.
It make for pretty good reading and it made the guy rich.
How is it that there are so many people ready to jump on stuff like that and accept it for the truth?
Sort of shows you where peoples faith is.
In the toilet.
Have you ever heard of the falling away?
It has been going on for a while, it gets more and more as generations go by.

Because the Da Vinci Code is the biggest load of ill-informed, formulaic, pretentious crap ever committed to paper - sell your copy and buy some proper books and learn the truth, it's much more interesting.

Skycat. When posting questions relating to social history and religion, it will help your `cred` NOT to mention DVC. There is a vast amount of historical evidence documenting persecution at the hands of Christianity. Dan Brown is not the best source of such information.
