first of all.. if i am saying it has been a week.. is it okay to say:
Cet a été une semaine.

and also, if i am saying it has been very good ((like the week)) would i use:
il or cet to start.. and
bien or bon to end?

It has been a very good week = Cela a été une très bonne semaine.

C'est très bon ! = That's very good.
C'est très bien ! = That's very well.

bien= well

i think you're mixing stuffs here, the word 'cet' for masculine and 'cette' for feminine means 'this'

to express the english 'it' u can use 'ca' or 'cela', or chiefly 'ce' which is contracted before vowels, (ce etait : c'etait)

so to say it's been a week, u should say: c'etait une semaine !!

and to say it's been a very good week, you'd say : c'etait une trés bonne semaine !!

'bien' is used MOSTLY used as an adverb or as a masculine adjectiv, placed after the subject, and meaning 'good' exp : Matt est un homme bien, means : matt is a good man ! je me sens bien : i feel good

Bon or Bonne, is used before the subject like most adjectives. example, elle est une bonne actrice, means : she's a good actress !!
