I've had a crush on this guy since the start of school this year. But in that time, we've become really good friends. We sit near each other in almost every class we have and we walk together between classes. Lately, he's been calling me and we'll talk on the phone for an hour (which doesn't usually happen for me because I don't like to talk on the phone all that much). But while we were talking today, he told me that he thinks I'm one of his best friends. This totally caught me off guard because I've been thinking (hoping) that he likes me as more than a friend. I always catch him staring at me and when i look back at him, he'll smile awkwardly and turn away, and everytime he calls me, it seems like just a stupid excuse to talk to me (ie. are we having a test on wednesday?) so what does he really think of me? are we just friends, or does he like me more than that?!

You totally need to talk to him straight on about this. I know it may suck, but it's for your own good. If he really does think of you guys as just godd friends, than at least you'll know that, and I don't think things'll chnage. But if he does like you, you may be ruining things by just becoming closer and closer friends and not knowing abot it.
DEFINATLEY CONFRONT HIM. not akwardly or anything, just bring it up casually. If he really thinks of you as a friend, he won't be bothered by it.

ask him in a friendly way to go to the movies with you...but make it casual. if you get him 1 on 1 there and give off good signals he may ask you out if he does indeed like you!
