Ok so this is a stupid question, but is it normal not to be able to sneeze when u have a cold?
I have been having a cold and have been taking medication, but every time I have the sensation that we get when we are about to sneeze, I cant; now I wish I could sneeze just to feel relieved since I’m a little anxious as to why I cant sneeze. I tried smelling pepper and it didn’t work. Any suggestions?

Whats always worked best for me is to look up (by moving your eyes, not your head) and tickle the roof of your mouth with your tounge.

I don't think that this is going to cause any health problems for you. I'm not sure why it happens, but it happened to me when I had a week long cold back in November. The first two days, I constantly felt like I had to sneeze, but I absolutely could not sneeze even one time. I would feel a tickle. My mouth would open, and my eyes would water a ton, and I would even inhale a bit, but I never finished sneezing. It was very frustrating because my nose was so irritated, and like you said, I thought that I could get relief by sneezing.

Then, on the third day, I woke up, and I felt the same annoying feeling of being on the brink of a sneeze. But as soon as I got out of bed and walked into the kitchen, I started the whole watery eye process, but finally, I just sneezed really hard. Then for the next six days, I sneezed about 20 times a day, at least once every half hour. People got really tired of hearing me, but it still felt so much better to be sneezing a lot than not sneezing.

So I think that you just have to wait it out.
