Since your kitty is only 8 months old she is going to love to play with a kitten... there might be some hissing at first but give her a week she will love the new kitty... I would personally get a another kitten asap... the sooner the better =) Good luck to you and your kitty!! I have a 3 year old kitty and just got a baby kitty and he loves it!! He licks him, and cuddles with him, protects him from my doggy, and plays with him.. its soo funny!! I hope this was helpful!!

If you reallllly want the kitten, your other cat will get over it. Jasmine may be upset with the new kitten but she'll adjust. My cat was about 8 months old when we brought in a new kitten (and we'd had her since she was a little kitten). She hated the new kitten for a few days, then she slowly started warming up to him. Pretty soon they were playing and now they sleep together, clean ech other and pretty much love each other. They are each other's company, especially when we're not here. Having two cats is a good thing, and especially entertaining to see them go at it when they get playing!

Cats are territorial. I have owned multiple cats over the years and the ones I already had have always reacted to the newcomer kitties. However, they are also very adaptable animals. Like people, all cats so not become best buddies with all other cats, while others just become best buddies and playmates. But, they will adjust and learn their boundaries. At first, I normally keep the new cat in a separate room. It does a couple of things. (1) Allows them to smell each other/interact through the space under the door before a full face to face meet. (2) If the incoming cat has kennel cough, you will be able to notice it and treat it while greatly reducing the chances the other cat will get it.

Put the new cat in a room with the door closed so your Jasmine will be curious about her. After a couple of weeks. let them meet for a short time, but put the little one back in the other room. Make sure your partner plays with the new one a lot. Keep letting them meet a little bit each day until they are comfortable with each other.
My cat hissed for a week and a half before finally grooming our new little kitty, and they were best friends until my baby (the first cat) died. Then the other one was depressed for a long time, even though we still had three other cats besides him.
We got them around 17 and 18 years ago, but we've now lost both of them, plus one other, to illness. One more is very old, blind, and hard of hearing, and has arthritis, but she still seems happy. Plus we have one chubby little kitty who purrs all the time and loves to sleep with me.
Just don't force things. Take it easy, and don't cuddle the new one too much until the older cat is adjusted, at least not in front of her.

My daughters have two cats when they were 10 months old or so due to unforeseen circumstances I inherited my sister’s cat Pennie, she is a year older than Leo and Disney,
Pennie took up residence in my bedroom for about two weeks, doors open they could all meet and see each other, she just sat on the window sill.
I had my little dog then too, then one day she took it upon herself to go on a walk about around the house if any of the other animals came close she would swear and spit at them, but that lasted about two months, now they sleep together, play as if she was as young as them ,
what I am trying to say is they will get on but in their own time.
I did not let her out side for longer though, then on a lead just so she knew where she was, make her mark.

most cats wont be a problem with a very young kitten if yours is female then chance are she would take to the new kitten really well and be like a 2nd mother to it. I have a dog who was really ill treated he doesn't get on with other dogs very well he is about 6 years old a year ago i got a kitten who was 3 weeks old that was abandoned he was frightened of her she was the size of a can of pop they are now best mates when i had to separate them recently the dog was really bad because he missed her so much

I have 4 cats. If you get the cats in a close time period, they will keep each other company when you are not there. There is a danger of getting too many cats for a territory. Cats are very territorial. I had 3 cats for about one year before I got the last cat. The 3 cats decided this house was their territory, so they would attack the new cat. Finally after a year of me watching that little cat like a hawk, the others accepted her. (It got so bad I was taking her to work for her safety)

Hi, I am a huge cat lover, and I have had lots of experience with cats, it all depends on the cat to be honest, but I think as she has only been with you a short while she will be fine, I would get the other one as soon as possible tho, so she don't get too used to being on her own, I think they will get on fine, as kittens they will learn to play with each other and hopefully be good company for each other. I had a kitten once then about a month later got a retriever pup and they got on well together they even used to sleep in the dog's basket together, so sweet to see them, anyway good luck I hope they get on.

As your cat is so young she'll adapt to another kitten quite well. There will be a lot of hissing for a start but they will grow to like and play with each other I'm sure.Keep them in separate rooms for a start then swap over till they get used to each others scent before introducing them and keep them supervised for the first few times they are together. Good luck and have fun .
