You need to talk to the doctor about this. After he has evaluated you, he will make suggestions right for you. Mention to him that you wish not to have anything that is habit forming. As far as over the counter things, there are none available.

Wait for your evaluation first, so you know exactly what is wrong and then you can ask your doctor for a non habit forming medicine, they will be more than happy to do so. They usually try to give you meds that are not addictive, depending on your evaluation, only he can do that...sorry if I wasn't more helpful. I suffer from depression and anxiety, started taking prozac and xanax, still on prozac but stopped the xanax a while ago without a problem, even though they say it can be very addictive. I guess it depends on the individual, anything can be addictive if you have an addictive personality. Good Luck and God Bless.

"Something ain't right" is not much to go on, please take some time and make a list for your Doctor of all the things that are troubling you, physical and emotionally. You don't need anything over the counter until you've narrowed your search and seen your Doctor. Good Luck and feel better.
