There is No bigger HOAX on the planet earth than the Roman Catholic Church!.....It should not even be called a church.....it is a RELIGION of manmade traditions and lies of the devil. it certainly is NOT A Biblical New Testament church. God said what He meant and meant what He said. Many of the foundational doctrines of Roman Catholicism are NOT found anywhere in the Bible. It is evil to reject the plain teachings of Scripture in exchange for the traditions of men........God will not share His glory with another (Isaiah 42:8). In Exodus 20:3-5 says that God is a jealous God, so jealous that we are commanded NOT to even BOW down to a statue or image............."Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God" - Exodus 20:3..........God is more jealous than a husband or wife could ever be. It is a dangerous thing to commit idolatry. It is a sin to bow to any saint. Roman Catholicism twists the Bible, actually condoning the idolatrous glorifying of dead people (saints). It is a sin to pray to anyone or anything in an attempt to influance God. There is ONLY one Mediator between God and men--the Lord Jesus Christ........."For there is one God, and one mediator between god and men, the man Christ Jesus" - 1st Timothy 2: 5.........The ONLY WAY to God the Father is through the Son. ...John 14:6 delcares..........By the way, the teaching of Catholics that Mary was born without any "original sin" is absurd, she was born with a sinful nature just like any other human being. the Bible does NOT teach any nonsense about an "Immaculate Conception" or anything about "original sin." The word "original" is not even found in the Bible!..........To Hail Mary is to Hail Satan! Mary is NOT a co-redeemer with Jesus!..............The Catholic crowd likes to do the same thing as the Wiccan witches do.......claim that all Christians are ignorant of history. How convenient that so many heathen groups can claim legitimacy and trustworthiness based upon ambiguous history. If anything, history reveals that the Catholic religion is composed today of a series of invented heresies from over the centuries............What will be the next invention? The Roman Church says it never changes; yet, it has done nothing else but invent new doctrines which are contrary to the Bible, and has practiced rites and ceremonies taken bodily from paganism. Some scholar has found that 75% of the rites and ceremonies of the Roman Church are of pagan origin.......Note:--.Cardinal Newman, in his book, "The Development of the Christian Religion," admires that...."Temples, incense, oil lamps, votive offerings, holy water, holidays and season fo devotions, processions, blessing of fields, sacerdotal vestments, the tonsure (of priests and monks and nuns), images......are all of pagan origin......" .....HERESIES are those doctrines and practices which are contrary to the Bible. They are also called "human traditions" or "doctrines of men." Both Peter and Paul predicted and warned that in the later times "false teachers" would rise within the Church and bring in "damnable heresies" and "doctrines of devils." (Read 2 Peter 2:1-3,and 1 Tim. 3:2=5). Jesus rebuked the Pharisees, for they transgressed the commandments of God by keeping their traditions. ."in vain"...He said, "they worship me by keeping the doctrines of men" (Matt. 15:3,9)..........The real heretics therefore, are the Roman Catholics and the true orthodox are the Evangelical Christians......BRETHEREN!!.....The Word of God commands us to get out of Babylon, saying: "come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues." (Rev.18:4). All true Christians will remain faithful to the religion of Christ as taught in the Bible, and heed the warning of the Apostle Paul, who said: "But though we, or and angel from heaven, preach any other Gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed." (Gal. 1:8)..........Roman Catholicism openly admits that many of their doctrines did NOT originate from the Bible, but from the church itself. It is blasphemy to recognize the writings of the church fathers as inspired by God. For example, in 1834, the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary was proclaimed by Pope Pius IX. The Bible states that all men, with the sole exception of Christ, are sinners. Mary herself had need of a Savior (Romans 3:23; 5:12; Psalm 51:5; Luke 1:30,46,47). In 1439, the doctrine of Purgatory was proclaimed as a dogma of faith by Council of Florence. The Bible says that Christ instituted only two ordinances, Baptism and the Lord's Supper (Matt. 28:19-20; 26:26-28).........The Catholic heresy of the "Assumption of Mary" isn't found in the Bible or even in their own magisterium..........

"What separates us as believers in Christ is much less than what unites us." (Pope John XXIII)

Almost all important doctrine is completely agreed upon between Catholic Christians and other Christians.

Here is the joint declaration of justification by Catholics (1999), Lutherans (1999), and Methodists (2006):

By grace alone, in faith in Christ's saving work and not because of any merit on our part, we are accepted by God and receive the Holy Spirit, who renews our hearts while equipping us and calling us to good works.

There are many minor doctrine issues and some major cultural traditional differences which, I believe, do not matter that much.

A Catholic worships and follows Christ in the tradition of Catholicism which, among other things, recognizes that Christ made Peter the leader of His new Church and Pope Benedict XVI is Peter's direct successor.

With love in Christ.

Catholics like to think they're the first Christian church, but they're ignoring the fact that their version of Christianity did not officially come to be until after the Great Schism that separated the Catholic Church from the Eastern Orthodox religions. It can be (successfully) argued that when Constantine moved the seat of his Empire to Constantinople, he took with him the "true" version of Christianity, which would be Eastern Orthodoxy (orthodox meaning "of, pertaining to, or conforming to the approved form of any doctrine, philosophy, ideology, etc." and "conforming to the Christian faith as represented in the creeds of the early church.").

The word Catholic Church means universal Church.
It was founded on the principle that all christians are of one belief.
It was thought to be founded by Jesus, although no mention of it is found in the bible.

The Pope is the head of the Catholic Church, the first pope supposedly was Paul, but nothing is certain.

But Catholics believe the Jesus is the son of god, born of the virgin marry, that he died on the cross and rose again on the 3rd day.

Catholics are indeed Christians.

Good question, i gave you a star!!!!!

May God Bless You!!!!!!

The most crucial problem with the Roman Catholic Church is its belief that faith alone in Christ is not sufficient for salvation. The Bible clearly and consistently states that receiving Jesus Christ as Savior, by grace through faith, grants salvation (John 1:12; 3:16,18,36; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10,13; Ephesians 2:8-9). The Roman Catholic Church rejects this. The official position of the Roman Catholic Church is that a person must believe in Jesus Christ AND be baptized AND receive the Eucharist along with the other sacraments AND obey the decrees of the Roman Catholic Church AND perform meritorious works AND not die with any mortal sins AND etc., etc., etc. Catholic divergence from the Bible on this most crucial of issues, salvation, means that yes, Catholicism is a false religion. If a person believes what the Catholic Church officially teaches, he/she will not be saved. Any claim that works or rituals must be added to faith in order for salvation to be achieved is a claim that Jesus’ death was not sufficient to fully purchase our salvation.

While salvation by faith is the most crucial issue, in comparing Roman Catholicism with the Word of God, there are many other differences and contradictions as well. The Roman Catholic Church teaches many doctrines that are in disagreement with what the Bible declares. These include apostolic succession, worship of saints or Mary, prayer to saints or Mary, the pope / papacy, infant baptism, transubstantiation, plenary indulgences, the sacramental system, and purgatory. While Catholics claim Scriptural support for these concepts, none of these teachings have any solid foundation in the clear teaching of Scripture. These concepts are based on Catholic tradition, not the Word of God. In fact, they all clearly contradict Biblical principles.

In regards to the question “Are Catholics saved?”, this is a more difficult question to answer. It is impossible to give a universal statement on the salvation of all members of any denomination of Christianity. Not ALL Baptists are saved. Not ALL Presbyterians are saved. Not ALL Lutherans are saved. Salvation is determined by personal faith in Jesus alone for salvation, not by titles or denominational identification. Despite the unbiblical beliefs and practices of the Roman Catholic Church, there are genuine believers who attend Roman Catholic churches. There are many Roman Catholics who have genuinely placed their faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. However, these Catholic Christians are believers despite what the Catholic Church teaches, not because of what it teaches. To varying degrees, the Catholic Church teaches from the Bible and points people to Jesus Christ as the Savior. As a result, people are sometimes saved in Catholic churches. The Bible has an impact whenever it is proclaimed (Isaiah 55:11). Catholic Christians remain in the Catholic Church out of ignorance of what the Catholic Church truly stands for, out of family tradition and peer pressure, or out of a desire to reach other Catholics for Christ.

At the same time, the Catholic Church also leads many people away from a genuine faith relationship with Christ. The unbiblical beliefs and practices of the Roman Catholic Church have often given the enemies of Christ opportunity to blaspheme. The Roman Catholic Church is not the church that Jesus Christ established. It is not a church that is based on the teachings of the Apostles (as described in the Book of Acts and the New Testament epistles). While Jesus’ words in Mark 7:9 were directed towards the Pharisees, they accurately describe the Roman Catholic Church, “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions!”

There are christians who attend catholic churches.. just as there are christians who attend methodist, lutheran, etc.... but when my MIL was asked if she was a Christian? she said, no.. i am a catholic??? how sad is that...

Christianity is a faith, a personal relationship with Jesus as our Savior, after accepting his Gift of Grace... catholicism is a religion, made by man, ruled by man...

Most definitely. Catholics were the first Christians. There would be no Christians without the Catholic Church carrying the torch for many many years. Go ahead and Google "How old is your Church"

Catholics were pretty much the first Christians. Who do you think the Protestants were protesting against?

Yes, we Catholics are definitely Christians, despite what someone else may try to tell you. We worship God, accept Christ as our Savior, and have the indwelling Holy Spirit.

Those are the basic tenants of Christianity, so we certainly qualify as Christians.

Catholicism is a denomination of Christianity. It's like saying that a granny smith is one type of apple, but isn't the same as a red delcious; yet both are still applies.

Not to me; it is a cult. If they believe in Christ and that He was the ultimate sacrifice for our sins, then why do they still go to a "priest?" No one can forgive us of our sins but Jesus Christ, our High Priest forever. Catholics also worship Mary as if she is God. God only used Mary to do His will. If it is the case that she be worshipped, why not worship Isaiah, Jeremiah, Elijah, Paul, etc? A Catholic once told me that Catholics worship saints such as St. Christopher, for guidance;there is no one named Christopher mentioned in the Bible. Catholics also believe that Mary remained a virgin after the birth of Jesus, even though it says in Matt. 1:25, "And [Joseph] knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son..." The Bible also says that Mary and Joseph had children, including James, who is mentioned throughout the Bible. Their beliefs (other than the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost) go against the Word of God. Sad but true.
