I really think that us teens should wait to have sex. I mean that there are quite a few very intellectual girls at my high school that are pregnant, or already have a kid because they were to eager to have sex with their boyfriend that left them for some other girl. Then they have to drop out of school because they can't work, go to school, and raise a child. Plus, its really emotionally hard to go through high school (the best time of your life) being pregnant. When I turned 13 my mom and dad gave me a purity ring , and I am keeping myself pure.

Yes, teens should wait to have sex. The reason why I say this sex involves a lot of emotions and consequences that teens will not be able to handle properly no matter how mature they claim to be. There are some adults in the world that can't handle sexual situations properly.
Bottom line: No form of birth control is 100% effective, When you have sex with a condom it is considered safer sex not which means a possiblility of contracting an STD, and other factors are too numberous for me to even begin to talk about. The most mature thing a teen can do is to say "I am not having sex until I am at least 18+ and even then when I feel that I am ready.

For the most part I would say no.
Unfortunately, most teens are immature, and irresponsible and thus, the female ends up pregnant and an unwanted neglected baby is brought into this world. It's these teens that I wish would wait, but like that would ever happen.
There are some teens out there that are mature and take safe sex seriously. I see no reason why these teens should wait. If they truly care for the other person and have safe sex then let them be.
This is why safe sex practices should be stressed in schools instead of the abstinence method. I think the abstinence method only makes teens want to do it more.

Yes, definitely. The main reason is that by not having sex (and I assume by 'sex' you mean vaginal intercourse) you automatically avoid a lot of serious issues. Pregnancy is one of the biggest, especially for teens, because most teens don't have the ability to raise a child- it takes time, costs money, and demands that certain relationships (like mother and father) be very strong, which is hard enough for adults to do. By not getting pregnant, you don't have to even deal with issues such as abortion and adoption, nor add to your stress, your family's stress or your friend's stress. Another one of the biggest problems with teenagers having sex is disease. By not having sex (and this means ALL kinds of sex) you get to avoid dealing with serious STD's. And I say all of this because, even with protection, NOTHING but abstinence is 100% effective for not contracting STD's and not getting pregnant. So, ultimately, these are the questions YOU have to answer for yourself; Is it worth the risk? Is it worth the consequence?

They should wait until they know how to be responsible about it and know the consequences of their actions. Getting pregnant or getting an STD is a huge deal. If a teen is too embarrassed to get and use the proper protection or talk about it with each other, they should not be having sex.

yes of course i think teens should wait. because even if you take condoms, they don't always help. and it can be very dangerous. you could become pregant and that will mess up your school life and peple could make fun of you. And the person you did it with probably doesn't want to help take care of the baby. and then if you have a boyfriend, people in your school will just think that you are trying to find a daddy for your child.

honestly i dont even think the word Wait excises in some teens vocabulary. Now a days in most teens , they are not the ones who decide whether to give it up or not. The environment and the peer pressure that surrounds them makes that choice for them... even though some of them dont even realize that they are under pressure... their actions reveal that to them at the end of it all.

Yes, I think you should wait until you have found someone you are so in love with, you don't want anyone else. Know it's true first and then have sex.

If its just for the sex then yes, but if they are truly in love then go for it if you feel ready. Sex with someone you love is the best sex you will ever experience
