First, you need to locate it, and you may have two.
They're usually somewhere between the exhaust manifold and the catalytic.
Some have it on the manifold, towards the back.
Others have it along the pipe(s), and my '95 D-2500 had it on the catalytic itself, while a few have one just past the cat.
You may also need a special socket they make just for this.

I would honestly recommend buying the Haynes repair manual.

There are 3 O2 sensors on my 1999 Explorer recreation 4.0 OHV. One in basic terms decrease than each and each exhaust manifold on the two aspects of the engine and a third in basic terms in the back of the catalytic converter (and in front of the muffler.)

Just use a 22mm or 7/8 wrench.... you might need some WD-40, it is easy, I did 2 on my 98 Explorer.
