You will want to have them well broken in before wearing them hunting.

I am partial to Danner boots, I have 4 pair and they all fit and support well.

Also having boots with a Goretex liner is a plus since wet feet blister. Depending on the time of year of your hunt and style of hunt will determine the amount of insulation. If you will be primarily walking then 400 grams should be sufficient if you will be static then you may want 800 to 1000 grams for more warmth.

you must have a boot with Gortex. wet feet on a long day hunting is very uncomfortable. a good aggressive tread pattern and excellent ankle support is also a must. I'm partial to Merrel boots. they are comfortable from the first time you put them on, waterproof, and very durable. another bonus is they won't empty your bank account when you buy them, good bang for the buck.
i live right in the middle of the British Columbia Rockies and i spend more time outdoors than indoors.

well broke in ones. ones with good grip, it depends on when your going... id go with a 400 gram water proof, either rockys or danner. and bring with you extra socks, you'll be doing a good bit of walking so your feet will get damp, but yet bring extra socks for when you get wet, and then have to sit for a while.
