What income bracket do you need to be in to be eligible for these services? I live in Wisconsin. How do I go about finding out if I am eligible?

Come to find out, after viewing the website, I make too much for a family of three. Why in the heck is it that I am so broke then?

I make sacrifices....I stay at home so I don't have to hand over my paycheck to daycare, I live in an apt. with gold appliances, I only buy what I need. Heck my shoes have holes in them!

Contact your local Heath Department for an appointment. WIC Income Eligibility Guidelines 2006-2007 can be found at the following: http://www.fns.usda.gov/wic/howtoapply/incomeguidelines.htm

Well in WI WIC is pretty generous. I mean the guidelines are very high as far as income. Food stamps are not the same way. I got WIC but did not qualify for Food stamps I "made too much". Right...I would call up the local WIC office they can handle both.

the lowest wages in that state. the best way to find out and this is in any state call 2-1-1 WIC is usually free to anyone who is pregnant/has kids no matter what the income, but for both you'll need
check stubs
proof of identy
proof of address
and ss cards for all you are applying for
but call and see if you need anything else

Contact the Department of Human Services, or maybe just the Welfare office.. you will need to take paycheck stubs for the last 3 months, or copies, or copies of any state or federal checks that you receive for the last 3 months, utility bills, including phone, insurance, rent or mortgage bill, any life insurnace paperwork, any car titles, take it all to their offices.. they will help you fill out all the paperwork

you also need to have social security numbers for everyone that lives in your home.. the kids too.

Good luck

You asked: "Come to find out, after viewing the website, I make too much for a family of three. Why in the heck is it that I am so broke then?"

The answer is that perhaps it's time to cut out the non-essential things. You are raising a kid-you may have to make some sacrifices to live within your means.

I guess you aren't a rocket scientist, then?

Usually (I'm in Texas) if you recieve medicaid or food stamps you fall within the income guidlines. I would just apply and see. Plus they factor in your expensed as well. Try and see.
