I am spending a week in September in Bowness, with my boyfriend’s family. Can anyone recommend anything to do? I wanted to go to Alton Towers but I was over ruled.
Please help - I will need something to do other than walk around lakes and up hills!!!
Also any good pubs or restaurants

To be brutally honest, if you don't like walking & taking in the scenery, there isn't much to do! It's even worse if it's raining, dull, wet and misty. The good news is, there are plenty of pubs and such like, but I doubt whether your boyfriend's family will want to stay in the pub all week.
Personally, I love the Lake District, but I can understand why some might find it boring. Bowness is a bit quiet, even for the Lake district!

If the Lake District isn't good enough for you, then maybe you need to lower your sights, or get a new boyfriend. Go to Alton Towers some other time - it's hardly that close to Bowness...

Bowness on Windermere has many good pubs and nightclubs, it's a short way from Kendal, good for a night out. Boat trips up the lake to Ambleside and Lakeside. There is an abundance of excellent restaurants. Use your imagination and I'll guarentee you wont be bored and you'll want to come back for more.

Very safe and cheif place is a Lacartes retaurant in London you can find the detail on their Web site so just go through their site and find the details and enjoys with your girl friend ......
