Kids are cruel and during those early years names may seem cute to you but your child will bear the brunt of the taunts.

Chelsea-Rae Just doesn't seem to work with an additional Middle Name. Somehow I can see her being nicknamed by others "SeaRay" "ChilsRay" "Sear" who knows what crazy mean combination some bully will dream up.

If you like a 2 part name stay with traditional

Marie Louise
Marie Antoinette

Or some other combination, just stay away from the new fangled "Moon Unit" "Audio Room" and other ridiculous names some parents are giving thier kids these days.

I think I prefer Chelsea Rae as two names and not as one.

Chelsea Rae (Smith)

Sorry, I know you were looking for some clear answers here but with everyone's opinions being a 50/50 toss-up, I think you are better off going with what your initial gut told you.

'Porshalynn' would actually be Portia Lynn. Portia was a charectar in Shakespere's Merchant of Venice. Lovely name, but can be badly mispronounced.

Chelsea Rae ( first and middle) sounds really pretty. Don't put the two names together 'Chelsea-Rae', she'll hate you for it when she goes to school!

Chelsea-Rae and another name for a middle name

My mother said to us girls when we were little. I picked names that were easy to spell and say because my name is Colette and it was difficult for me to learn to spell it as a little girl. So I have selected names (some with nicknames) that are easy for you to spell and say. We are only young for a short period of time in our lives so the name you select is very important because I knew a girl named Myrtle whom those in French would call merd which is not very nice. People associate certain things with names such as intelligence, power, caring, leadership etc. So in deciding for a name which can help determine their future to some lesser or greater extent you may want to look up the history and meanings associated with the name you choose. I personally think Chelsea is a very nice name. But if you name her Chelsea-Rae she may end up with the nickname Rea which is better than a nick name of Chea probably. Think about what you are actually giving your child. I would hate to have a name that limits me to one cultural concept of who I am or a name that could be changed to sound funny or rude. Chelesea is not an extremely common name but is well enough known to be pronouced. You may want to consider Chelsea as the first name and Rea as her middle name added to another name
Rea-Lee
Rea-Shell
etc.
Personally I think Reashell sounds pretty but I would have to look to see if it has any meanings in existance if it even exists.
