I recently downloaded Ubuntu 6.10 with instructions from Popular Science magazine. I just wanted to get the file on a hard copy before downloading, so I tried to copy it on the CD. However, there is not enough room, and I don't know what to do. Is it possible to split the file into two parts but still have a seamless installation?

Most likely the Ubuntu file is an Iso Image. With iso images, you have to use software to read the iso and put the image on the CD, unlike just copying the file to the CD. If you need some iso burning software, I recommend ImgBurn.

Buy a DVD Disk which will fit around 400 x more data and will cost a few bucks.
