I am a Catholic but I also believe in Karma. Is that wrong? Would it be considered as breaking away from Catholicism? Do you believe in Karma even a slight bit? Thank you.

Believing that your good or bad actions affect both you and all those around you is basic Christian doctrine. And although sin may be forgiven by God, you may have to live with its affects for the rest of your life.

Other parts of Karma is not in tune with Christianity. The part that how you live in this life will affect future lives. Christians do not believe in reincarnation.

How we get to heaven is also out of step with Karma. Karma would say you have to be very very very good to deserve heaven. Christianity says no one can ever be that good.

Christians believe that it is only through the grace of God and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ that we gain heaven not through any effort on our part. Although we are expected to live in faith, hope, and love.

With love in Christ.

I am Catholic too, and I also believe in Karma. It just seems right too me, and no I don't think it's wrong because even Jesus said if you do good on Earth you will be rewarded which basically is Karma.

I can't imagine how it'd be wrong, but that's just MY ex-Catholic, now Buddhist opinion. I look back at Christianity through a vastly different lens now and don't see how the concept of sin (short of being used as a tool to create fear, condemnation and arrogant judgement) is much different than that of karma.

Honey, I was raised Roman Catholic and I wholeheartedly believe in Karma. You don't have to call it karma if you don't want to, but the bible clearly states "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". To me, that means Karma....so I think it's okay.

Karma is just another cultural expression of the Golden Rule, and of sin and punishment.

karma is a buddhist word, so it has an obvious clash when it comes to christian "thought."

I'd say not to worry about it.
