I don't think my health insurance covers vision and I have only gone to the eye doctor once, when I was 14 or 15. How much does an eye exam cost? What about the cost of contact lenses? I remember that I have astigmasm in both eyes and they make special contact lenses for this

I also have an astigmatism and recently called about 10 places to find out how much it would cost to get fitted for contacts. $85 is the going rate at 8 out of 10 places. Just get fitted, then buy your toric (for astigmatisms) contacts online.
Lenses are anywhere from $25-$60 a box (6 lenses per box) for monthly disposables. which are the ones you want.

costco charges $45 for a regular eye exam (glasses), but if you're getting contacts it's another $30 for a fitting. They have an optional $6 glacuoma test, which i think is worth it. So that's $81 there, and then there's the cost of contact lenses, which depends on what brand you get and if you get clear or color. I wear Acuvue 2 Colours and that cost me $56 for 1 box per eye. I hope that's clear enough!
