I am from the UK and have the brilliant opportunity to visit either Australia or America this year, I honestly don't know which to choose. Hopefully one day i'll be able to do both, but does anyone have any suggestions that might help my immediate decision? Thanks :)

Depends on what you're after--nice weather? Well, the month(s) you travel should be considered. Australia is a bit cheaper (plane tickets aside) if you are going for an extended stay.

I'd say think of what you'd most like to do, and then compare the two. With both countries, if you'd like to see a lot of sights, you'll be flying within the country quite a bit.

Personally? I'd skip Australia altogether if time is an issue, and I'd spend time in New Zealand. It's cheaper still, and there is a lot of beautiful scenery in a country about the size of the UK.
