I'm sure most people, including most scientists, believe the science that the Earth is warmer than it used to be, otherwise, we'd still be in an ice age. The Earth is continuing to get warm, but at a much faster pace. Entire glaciers have melted and not come back in my life time. These are glaciers that have existed since the ice age. How can anyone deny this is happening and what do they get out of it? Second part is...if your reason is that it isn't man made, this doesn't mean global warming isn't happening. So I will redirect you to the question. What do you get out of denying global warming?

So, one person denying it, but refusing to explain what he gets out of it. Well, just because the Earth is self-regulating doesn't mean it isn't warmer right now.
Others saying no one is denying it. I refer you to answerer number one.
Others have a lot to say about smog and how the sun and volcanoes have more impact than smog. Possibly, but that still doesn't point away from global warming, just away from one possible cause and towards another possible cause.
The glaciers that have melted and not come back in my life time. How is that unclear or nonsensical? It hasn't become cold enough in the winter for some retreating/melted glaciers and pole ice to refreeze. Thus, the warming trend continues.
Again, the debate on causes doesn't explain how this leads so many to think that this is not happening.
We're not in an ice age, so yes, we are in a warm age and the definition of warming, that is, it is continuing to warm and not getting colder, still remains.

Is global warming a man-made menace?

not all there are natural cycles in the planets life
but a lot is influenced by mans existance ,and this is increasing with overpopulation, putting strains on Natural resources and increasing contaminations as well as destructions of essential componants the ensure living conditions for all life forms

some home truths

politicians and scientists who work for politicians have downplayed the facts because solutions are expensive and means change and change effects many people income, and most of the world is kept in the dark of the real things that are going on.

in North Africa,India,Mexico ,millions of people are effected by land loss and desertification

in recent times thousands of people have died because of exessive heat, usually old people.in India ,Mexico and France,
deforestation causing desertification, the desert conditions causing very cold nights and scorching hot days

in china, thousands of what used to be farmers are running for their lives from the dust storms that have burried their towns and turned their lands into dessert, the globe where they were got to hot for them .
and instead of producing food they are now needing it from some where else, and they will drastically effect the world food prices when they start buying water in the form of grains ,at any cost destabalising governments, in some countries ,could be the result
(are you seeing more Chinese around interested in agricultural lands ,we do here in Mexico)

,the Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year
and all of the desserts we know are a results of mans actions ,and they are increasing ,not getting less ,in the dinosaurs days ,there were no desserts.

collectively this planet is drying up because of bad farming practices like, over grazing and fertilizers,

as far as the food production is concerned, Global warming or some of its effects are serious, rising seas result in landloss

each degree rise in temperature means 10%crop loss

more landloss because of desertification every year,we have less areble land to produce food ,for an extra 70 million people ,

and there is less and less water (because of deforestation),to irrigate this production ,
and there are less and less farmers to do it..
who are overpumping deep carbon aquifiers
who are plowing more and more unstable lands because they have lost so many million hectares to desertification ,
because of bad farming practises ,such as using fertilizers and heavy machinary or over grazing

RISING SEAS
The northpole is melting ,and we will know it without ice in our life times.
this does not affect the sea level because it is ice that is already in the water.but the melting ice from Green land and the south pole ,are another matter.

Global warming is in theory reversable, but it will mean global co operation between all countries ,and taking into account human nature and the world politics ,it is unlikely that this will happen,

At least not untill we are all in the middle of planetary disastres and it becomes a battle for the survival of humanity every where.

SOLUTIONS
if you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to reverse the destructive processes

reduce carbon emisions, and they are already working on that by alternative forms of energy and regulations on carbon producing materials, aerosol cans, burning rubbish, industrial chimneys, powerplants etc.

the capture of carbon and the production of water and assist the aquiferous manta.

the world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia

Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.

the protection of existing forrests.

stop building more highways, urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.

education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.

education on environmental awareness
education on family planning to curb over´populaion

Agricultural education and improvements to follow the principals or sustainability and soil management.

more environmental or land ,design to prevent bush fires, such as--fire breaks

,more dams.regulations and control for public behaviour

alternative effeciant public transport to discourage the use of the internal conbustion engine

recicling wastes,limit water use

I don't deny that the earth is getting warmer, I just question whether or not the causes are man made and whether anything mankind can do will be effective in slowing/stopping/reversing it.

Mt St Helens spewed more greenhouse gasses into the air during one eruption than all the cars since the invention of cars

Hyper-industiralization (the type environmentalists get all chicken-little about) has only been going on for the past fifty years or so. The sun has been hyperactive (and extra hot) for the past century or so. Maybe global warming is the sun's fault

The bottom line is that I think all the stuff we pour into the atmosphere can't be good and that we should do what we can to keep the environment squeaky clean. But I don't think that global warming is nessecarily caused by humans.

What I get out of this (ideally) is an open discourse of ideas.

Okay, how long have we been tracking the warming of the earth? 2 years? 20? 100? Regardless, in the broad spectrum of how long the earth has been in exhistance, we have no real idea of how rapid this is actually happening. Also keep in mind that regardless of the ice age, there was a period of time on this planet prior to the ice age-- whose to say that the core temperature of the earth was dramatically warmer in that time period?
Nevertheless, the earth is hundreds of thousands-- millions(?) of years old. Glaciers take an incredibly long time to form, so your example of them not "coming back" doesn't really make sense. I'm assuming you are between the ages of 15-75? Right.
As for what we people "get out" of denying global warming, this is a fad. 3 years from now, people will be focused on the overpopulation of shrimp in the ocean or clouds falling from the sky.
It is still considered an opinion, not a fact.

The Earth historically has gone through drastic climatological changes. Humans definitely have a direct adverse influence on our environment, but our impact is limited compared to the big picture of the earth's thermostat. Back in the 70's the big fuss was over the fact that we were, based on scientific research, headed to another ice age. almost 40 years later, the tables have turned and it is warming that is of concern.
I am whole heartily in favor of doing all we can to limited our impact on the earth, and believe it is our responsibility to do what we can to control our output of heavy metal, green house gases, and many other easily control pollutants.
Too bad politics in America work the way they do, otherwise maybe some real progress could be made, and we could set a good example to up and coming countries, especially China and India whose populations far exceed ours, therefore having a huge potential future impact on our environment.
The whole global warming issue is a big can of worms...I don't deny it, but I do believe that we need to look at all the facts and the overall picture of earth's climatic cycle throughout its history.

Nobody denies global warming. The major debate is how it came to be.

Science, history, and logic indicate that global warming is a naturally occurring cycle, which is then followed by a natural cooling trend. There is no concrete evidence that indicates that either warming or cooling is happening faster now than in previous ages.

Profit, propaganda, and hysteria indicate that global warming is caused entirely by man, and is only happening now because we use fossil fuels on a daily basis. The evidence for this comes from questionable data collection methods, poor scientific modeling, and conveniently sloppy statistics.

You know what? Us as Americans have the freedom of speech, which means we can write to the president to speak our minds. I did that and I got a letter back. If you don't know his adress, then you can find it on the internet VERY easilly. Also, I COMEPLEATLY know how you feel. I mean, what happens when there IS no more snow, only EXTREME heat??? What happens to the artic animals that die due to extreme increase of temperature? I held a protest afew months ago in the park. We all tried getting people to sign a patision stateing enough is enough. We haven't gotten a reply back from the president, but hopefully we will and we will have made a difference. You should try the same thing me and my friends tried. If enough people get enough signatures, we might be able to stop global warming all together; stop the factories that send smoke into our air; and stop the cars from their contributions. I wish you good luck and I hope you make a BIG difference in this matter.

they do no longer ignore approximately worldwide warming, they ignore approximately that the human-brought about carbon-dioxide (CO2), could desire to be the muse of all evil subsequently. The earth has constantly been warming up, and cooling down back and back back, in jurassic time-era fx, it became a lot warmer than that's right this moment. Even interior the medieval circumstances we had a era looong era of warmer climate. interior the 70's each physique feared worldwide cooling, and the prospect of a sparkling ice-age, by way of fact the graph on worldwide temperature have been going severely downwards after a era the place the temperature have been increasing. apart from the temperature has by way of fact the twelve months 2000 been going downwards back. I basically think of we could desire to settle for that those climate ameliorations have constantly been occurring, and could shop occurring and on and on continuously. human beings deny that CO2 is the main suitable sinner of all time, by way of fact it basically is against the human good judgment, once you have a great variety of expertise. maximum human beings basically have self assurance what they pay attention, while that is somebody of extreme authority asserting it, by way of fact they haven't any history expertise in any respect, different than "that's a greenhouse gasoline". That stated, i'm chuffed to be sure have this fuzz over us, so as that the scientist and engineers gets on with the form interior the sphere of selection potential. by way of fact nomatter the worldwide warming, we are determining of oil and choal, which there's a lot of undesirable issues to declare approximately different than the CO2 produced while burning it.

i dont deny global warming, but im guessing that the people that do probably do it beacuse they're the kind of people who tend to avoid a subject if they dont like it. im guessing they think "its not really affecting ME so why worry about it? let later generations worry about it when it affects THEM" theres a name for this kind of people, theyre called "lazy"
