Im thinking of applying for the Peace Corps. and i am wondering what are the advantages and disadvantages and also how can i stand out from all the other applicants. What are they looking for from applicants?

I think what stands out the most is individuality, just be yourself. I know that can be a real general statement but to make it short and sweet you've got to show leadership abilities. Whether its in your education background, work, hobbies, skills or any volunteer experience they've got to see that it all those areas or at least some of them. I just got accepted a couple of months ago and the whole time I knew it was for me, I knew it was what I truly wanted to do. Hopefully you feel the same way. Good luck.

Not sure. I did Americorps and know they really need participants, so you'd be snapped up really quickly. I wouldn't think Peace Corps would be really hard to get into. They are some blogs from people in the field you may want to check out. There's probably a recruiter in your area you can talk to about your questions as well.
